More Getting Ready for Baby

More stuff just keeps being put in the nursery. It's so cool. There's a floor gym in there now so I don't have to worry about getting out to be able to work out. The crib mattress is nice and firm just how I like it. There's even a cool mobile hanging on the crib now that I can bat at. Yesterday Mom and Dad brought home a cool rocking chair so that Mom can sit and rock me. Apparently her grandfather gave it to Grand mew mew when Mom was born. It's really comfy to sit in.

Here's a picture of my pregnant Mom. When my birth mom was that big she had six of us. Wonder how many Mom is having?

Maintenance Man, um I Mean Cat

Dad was doing some work on the floor vents yesterday and even though I generally prefer not to work weekends, I agreed to come in and consult on the job with him. It helps having a cat for a maintenance man, we can see into dark spaces without a light source. Once I explained to him that the duct work had gotten moved and how it needed to go back he seemed to understand and did a pretty good job fixing it. I checked out the finished product and though it lacked a certain "catmanship" it was still a decent job. Way to go Dad.

Robert's Stroller???...

... Or my cool new fort! Not only does it have a basket underneath that I can ride in, but if I get up top it's fun to hide and bat at Harley when she goes by. This is so cool. Wonder if maybe Mom will let me keep it, she can just carry the baby around. After all, how big could a baby be?

Check Out My New Ride!!!

Mom and Dad put together this cool new thing last night. They called it a stroller. It's got this great spot for the baby to go and a way cool basket underneath for me! Me and RC are gonna be riding in style! We'll be able to go on long walks, to the mall... ooohhhh... I can take him to Dean and Deluca and introduce him to the wonderful world of lox! Oh yeah, I'm loving our sweet new ride.

New Form of Expression

I've found a new way to express myself... embroidered bibs! Grand-mew-mew... I'm coming!!!

Loving ATB (All Things Baby)

Baby stuff is so cool!!! We've got this swing in the living room... it looks really neat. I keep trying to get to the animals hanging off the top of it but every time I touch it, it starts to move. I'm getting braver each day and soon shall conquer these beasts of the jungle.

Dad put together the crib/changing table today. I, as always, supervised. It's really cool. The baby can sleep in the crib and I can keep watch over him from the changing table. I can also stretch out on the rug and see everything.

There are a lot of baskets and shelves to explore. It seems every day Mom puts something new in the baby's room. Unfortunately they've put up a gate so I can't get in there unless Mom or Dad lets me in... I'd love to have a day in there to explore. At least Harley can't get in either... she'd probably chew everything up.

Robert's Room

Robert's room is pretty much finished. Mom just needs to get a crib, pick up the rocker and finish stocking the shelves... but don't stock them too much, leave some room for me! I love hanging out in this room... it's a real "guy" space. A lot roomier than the cat cave. I can't wait until the little guy gets here so I can play with him. The blankets mom has so far are really soft and I'm gonna love snuggling in to them. I hope he's not a blanket hog, maybe Mom will put out one for him and one for me. I'm also thinking there's a good space under the window between the bookshelves to put a nice cat condo. That way I'll be able to look out the window and watch the baby when he sleeps. I think Dad's going to Petco tomorrow... maybe I can get him to pick one up for me.

Another New Room

OK people, we're about 50 days away from the birth of my new baby brother, we gotta have a room for him! I took over operation Robert's Room Preparation. Today I got Mom and Dad both up and got them working! Dad had already painted two walls so it was time to wall paper the other two. They didn't get completely done, we'll do the rest tomorrow... oh yeah, there's a border that has to go up too. I think it's looking pretty good so far. After that's done we can get a crib... I'm voting for one that is cat friendly so I can sleep with him and make sure he has everything he needs... and that Harley keeps her stupid paws off of him!

Cat Cave!!!

Mom and Dad finally realized that I'm a growing boy and I need my own space! Thus the Cat Cave was born. I have my own room in the basement. Yes, they also use it as storage but I have plenty of things to climb on, food, my litter box, my bed and toys all in a private room. The best part about it... Harley can't get in! HA!! She will lay outside the door and wait for me to come out. It's so great when I get her to chase me and run in the little door leaving her outside... drives her nuts!

Happy Mother's Day!

Sorry it's been a while since I posted. Mom's pregnant - non-furry sibling coming in October. Anyway, Mom's been pretty sick lately and I've had my hands full taking care of her. I lay on the bed with her, chase her back to bed when she stays up for too long and give her daily tummy massages. It's a lot of work. But, in honor of Mother's Day I decided to run down to the City Market yesterday before she got up and surprise her with a bouquet. I think she really liked it. She's a great Mom. Of course, Harley tried to take partial credit... dumb dog.

Spring!!!

I love spring time! Mom and Dad open the windows and I can sit on the ledge and breathe the fresh air and watch the world go by. This is the window I sit in to watch for Mom and Dad when they are gone. Once they pull in the driveway I run down the steps and meet them at the front door. Harley can't do that :-)

Thanks Aunt Barb!

Great Aunt Barb gave the new baby to be a present and I got the bag! I love it. It's nice and springy and the perfect size for me to hide in and swipe at everyone when they walk by.

The weather has been sunny and I've really enjoyed sitting in the window and watching the world go by. I so wish I could go outside. Maybe tomorrow I'll sneak out for a bit.

SIT!!!

I have been watching a lot of the Dog Whisperer on Animal Planet and decided that I should be able to make Harley obey me. We've been working on sit. I've got the paw motion down but she just isn't getting it. Must be because she is so stupid... HA!

Can I Make It Any Clearer??

I did not want my picture taken. I was trying to take a nap. Mom needs to take her camera and get out of my face!

Planning and Zoning Problems

So, I come upstairs from a brief visit to the basement to find out my condo has been relocated! Hmph! No one discussed this with me. Apparently the Planning and Zoning board (Mom and Dad) decided to put some high rise towers in the living room right where I had my little pad! They could have at least told me they were thinking about changes. I guess I shouldn't complain too much. My condo was not destroyed, just moved. And it is now under my favorite window and also gives me close access to Mom when she is on the couch. It's just the principle of the matter. I decided to check out the new towers to see if maybe I want to sublet my condo to Harley (her pad was relocated to the basement... hee hee!). There was a nice opening on the second floor and I thought that I could be comfortable there but Mom informed me that the space was already rented... they haven't moved in yet, perhaps there is still time to negotiate a deal.

Cat Grass!!!

Mom and Dad took Harley to Petco today to get her out of the house for a bit and find some toys that might help her burn off some energy so she'll quit chewing everything in sight! I told them they just need a muzzle and a shock collar... and let me have the shock collar control... she'd behave! But they coddle her so much they decided activity toys are a better way to go... whatever people, when you're ready to talk doggie torture come find me.

However, while they were there Mom bought me some cat grass. I love cat grass! It usually takes her about two weeks before she kills it so I'll have to enjoy it quickly. Now all I have to do is find some rolling papers...

Ha! Ha!

I love to torture Harley when I get a chance. Mom and Dad have finally started punishing her when she's bad and they put her in her cage for puppy time out. When she's in there I like to climb on top of it and lecture her when she can't get her nippy little teeth on me! It's so much fun being the big brother!

She's Such A Suck Up

Will you look at this! Mom and Dad took Harley clothes shopping... the little bitch princess gets everything! Well, apparently she's sucking up to Mom because she picked out this t-shirt. Disgusting. Mom doesn't rock... she listens to country. But of course Mom thought it was so cute... makes me sick! She got another shirt too, it says - "It's my brother's fault". Hmph!

I Love Paint!

I've really been getting in to using Paint on the computer. It's a great way to express myself. Harley called me a dumb cat... um, she's the one locked in a cage all day! Anyway, hopefully I'll get to do some more artwork. Mommy won't let me use real paint because it gets stuck in my fur and all messy. To tell you the truth, I'm not real fond of baths and I'm pretty sure she's make me take one if I used Daddy's paints... so for now I'll stick to the computer.

The Letdown

The holidays are officially over. All the decorations have been taken down and packed up. I always feel a little sad when they take the tree out of the living room. Since I'm not allowed to go outside it's nice to have the outdoors indoors for a change. I got some great gifts for Christmas. Dad is stocking lox in the fridge so occasionally lox day comes more than once a week.

It's a whole new year. 2007 finally here. I'm still toying with the idea of resolutions for the new year. I mean let's face it, I'm not overweight, I don't smoke, I don't drink except on special occasions. I always use my litterbox. I don't torment Harley more than she deserves... what is there really to improve on? Maybe if I think on it a little harder I'll come up with something.
